If you live in Austin, Texas (or are just visiting) and you haven't tried 512 Brewing Company, what are you waiting for? Located in West Congress, the craft beer brewery opened in 2008 after Founder Kevin Brand saw that the local microbrewery scene was missing brewing styles like a high ABV IPA and Belgian Wit. During their opening year, the small brewery released (512) Pecan Porter in the taproom and people were instantly hooked to the Texas-inspired porter. So much so that they begged the brewery to offer it in bottles. It took a few long-awaited years, but it seems like its finally happening.

Are our Pecan Porter dreams finally coming true? The craft brewers recently teased a photo on their Facebook showing boxes of bottled Pecan Porter with the caption, "Pecan Porter getting closer, much closer, to store shelves! Hang in there...days now".
83% USDA organic, the nearly black 6.8% ABV (512) Pecan Porter is made with Crystal malt, along with Baird's Chocolate and Black malts. Its full body and malty sweetness are balanced with subtle pecan aroma and flavor from locally grown pecans.
Throughout the year the brewery also offers (512) Whiskey Barrel Aged Double Pecan Porter which has an ABV of 9.5%. And if porters aren't your style, 512 is always pouring their Juicy IPA, Pale Ale, Mosaic single malt ale, Wit Belgian ale, and India Pale Ale. Annual pours include Black IPA, White IPA, Cascabel Cream Stout, Bruin, Belgian Style Tripel, and an Oatmeal Coffee Stout.
When is Pecan Porter Hitting Stores?
We reached out to 512 Brewing and are awaiting a response, however, by the looks of it, it should be fairly soon! This is the first time the Brewery has released the Pecan Porter in bottles and we can't wait!
