"Blue Bloods" was renewed for a fourteenth and final season in the spring of 2023. Having aired an astonishing 275 episodes since its 2010 premiere, the series is one of the longest-running police procedurals in TV history. The show centers on the Reagans, a powerful family of NYPD officials. Led by their patriarch, Police Commissioner Frank (Tom Selleck), the Reagan clan must navigate legal battles while grappling with internecine wars within the family.
"For the past 13 years it has been an honor and a privilege to work on a show that not only celebrates the men and women who protect and serve in New York City but also displayed the importance of family," Selleck said in a statement, adding a cheeky reference to the weekly Reagan family dinners: "We offer heartfelt gratitude to the fans who gathered with us for dinner every Friday night."
Which cast members are returning for "Blue Bloods" Season 14, and how many episodes can we expect? Here's everything we know about the fate of the Reagan clan.
'Blue Bloods' Season 14 Plot
CBS has not yet released an official Season 14 synopsis, but they have provided the following juicy Episode 1 plot summary:
"Jaime goes undercover with a deadly human trafficking ring. Danny and Baez investigate a homicide connected to Darryl Reid (Malika Yoba), Danny's old partner. Also, Frank grapples with whether to publicly support Mayor Chase (Dylan Walsh) on a policy decision and Eddie is determined to teach a young shoplifter a lesson."
So, yeah, no news on the serial killer Dr. Walker. We also don't know if Jennifer Esposito will return as Detective Jackie Curatola in the final season. Esposito left the show due to health issues back in Season 3 and made a surprising return in the Season 13 finale to re-team with Danny (played by Donnie Wahlberg). She's not a series regular, but one can hope she'll pop in for the show's final farewell.
Will the Entire Cast Return for 'Blue Bloods' Season 14?
The entire main cast of "Blue Bloods" will return for Season 14, with original stars Tom Selleck, Donnie Wahlberg, Bridget Moynahan and Will Estes all reprising their roles. The cast agreed to 25% salary cuts in order to keep the show alive amidst a raft of cancellations, per Deadline. Now that's dedication.
Alas, the recurring character of Lenny Ross, played by the late-great Treat Williams, will be retired in the wake of Williams' fatal motorcycle accident in June 2023.
Here's every cast member confirmed for "Blue Bloods" Season 14:
- Frank Reagan (Tom Selleck): The family patriarch and NYPD Commissioner.

- Erin Reagan (Bridget Moynahan): Frank's daughter, the no-nonsense Assistant District Attorney.

- Garrett Moore (Gregory Jbara): Frank's de facto Chief of Staff.
- Eddie Janko Reagan (Vanessa Ray): Jamie's wife, and a scrappy police officer to boot.
