Bad news for fans of Chicago PD: the series premiere of season 11 has been delayed until 2024.

Dick Wolf's police drama series is not immune to the ongoing writers and actors strike -- and production has been arrested until an agreement can be reached.
LaRoyce Hawkins, the star of Chicago PD, recently provided an update on the highly anticipated 11th season of the beloved procedural series during an acting masterclass lecture at Louisiana State University.
"Naturally, after the writers strike, it's going to take the writers a while to start warming up their rooms again and starting to conceptualize stories again," he said.
"From my personal research, we have a big hill to climb before we can find an agreement," he said, according to Digital Spy. "I'm faithful and optimistic that it will only be a couple more months, if that, that we're off."
The WGA and The Screen Actors Guild - American Federation of Television and Radio Artists have been on strike since May 2 and July 14 respectively, demanding better pay for streaming and regulations on artificial intelligence.
Earlier this month, NBC announced changes to its fall television schedule. Instead of new episodes of scripted series like Chicago PD and its companion series Chicago Fire and Chicago Med, we'll get a mix of new seasons of unscripted programming like America's Got Talent as well as reruns of scripted series.
For fans of Chicago PD, the new season can't come fast enough. We were left on quite the cliffhanger at the end of season 10, with fan-favorite officer Adam Ruzek tragically getting shot.
Here's to hoping a resolution between corporate and creative Hollywood can be reached ASAP.
