The tune is all about Leatherwood's pride in the country lifestyle — with references to Hank Williams, small town football, homegrown tomatoes and more. The song's chorus specifically gives a nod to all the things he loved about his upbringing in the South.

"That's what made me wanna drink / Made me wanna love a pretty little thing in the bed of my truck / Made me wanna stand up like a man for what I believe / It made me proud of where I came from / Made me shoot some prayers to the man above / From this ole hat crease to the boots on my feet / That's what made me, me," he sings.

Although Leatherwood's former coach Blake Shelton has yet to comment on the song, it seems like something the Oklahoma-born, veteran country singer would approve of.

Leatherwood did not share when he will release the tune, but it seems the singer has a new project in the works. Upon winning The Voice, Leatherwood signed a recording contract with Universal Music Group's Republic Records. According to his social media accounts, he has been hard a work in the studio recording new music.

"Y'all get ready.. got some incredible things coming up very soon. It's time," he wrote in a July 27 post featuring a photo of him in the studio.

Leatherwood shared another unreleased tune in May: a song called "The One My Daddy Found" written by the singer, Chris Dubois and Lynn Hutton.

Leatherwood has also been touring consistently, and he will head to his hometown of Woodstock, Ga. for a show on Aug. 25.
