Kelly Clarkson Invites 12-Year-Old Prodigy Onstage for Jaw-Dropping Performance: 'So Powerful'

Clarkson said Sadaya's voice "just breaks your heart in the most beautiful way."

Kelly Clarkson is currently performing on her Chemistry residency in Las Vegas, and she brought a very special guest to the stage during the Aug. 2 show. The singer invited 12-year-old Sadaya Paige, a blind singer who previously appeared on The Kelly Clarkson Show, to sing her own solo tune.

While introducing Sadaya to the crowd, Clarkson praised her beautiful vocals.

"She is so powerful, and just breaks your heart in the most beautiful way," Clarkson said during the show. "The kind of soulful singing voice that you hear, if you don't feel moved, you need to get help."

Clarkson then stepped back as Sadaya launched into a rendition of Andra Day's "Rise Up." The young singer gave her all to the performance, showcasing her powerful vocals and infusing plenty of emotion into the song. Clarkson served as Sadaya's backup singer, adding harmony to the performance without taking away from Sadaya's shine.

The video was shared to Sadaya's Instagram page, which is managed by her mother, Dora.

"We are so thrilled to finally share this with you all & are soooooooo thankful for Kelly and the entire team for making this all possible," her mother wrote alongside the video. "My babygirl's dream of performing LIVE on stage in front of THOUSANDS of people came true last night and our eyes are still wet from crying and our hearts are all filled with so much love & appreciation. This was such an incredible experience and we cannot wait for what's next."
The full performance can also be seen here.
Sadaya appeared on a March episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show, where she and her mom told her story. Dora explained that Sadaya was born blind due to a condition called septo-optic dysplasia. In a message to Sadaya's fans, whom she calls "fairies," she wrote, "Our message is simply for you fairies to NEVER EVER give up hope. Never ever take a bad remark and hateful comment towards you and your journey and run with it because — guess what? GOD HAS A BIGGER PLAN!"
