In snippets of the book McConaughey shared to social media, the actor shares his "trademark humor and wisdom" in poem-like stanzas. The book features illustrations by artists Renée Kurilla. McConaughey is also recording an audiobook version, which will be released by Listening Library.

"I wrote Just Because for your kids, for my kids, and for the kid in all of us," McConaughey said of the book (quote via Entertainment Weekly). "We're all as young as we're ever gonna be, so let's just keep learning."

The actor adds, "As my own kids grow up and I keep learning how they're measuring the world around them, I think it's inevitable that I'll follow up with some more fun approaches to living that we can all enjoy."

The book follows his wildly successful 2020 memoir, Greenlights. In the book, McConaughey shares stories from his life and the wisdom he's gleaned thus far. It went on to become a No. 1 New York Times Bestseller.

McConaughey is currently on a book tour in support of Just Because, which kicked off Sept. 9 in Austin, Texas. He will appear at The Strand Bookstore in New York, N.Y. on release day, after which he will head to Massachusetts and California through Sept. 16.

Just Because isn't the only project McConaughey has been working on lately. He will star in a yet-to-be-named Yellowstone spinoff series, and he will become the voice of Elvis Presley in an upcoming Netflix series, Agent Elvis, produced by Priscilla Presley.
