Step back in time with this tv dinner classic. This Slow Cooker Salisbury Steak is easy to make and cooks in the slow cooker.
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 egg yolk
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 1/3 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp pepper
For The Sauce
- 2 cups sliced mushrooms
- 1 onion, sliced
- 1 1/2 cups beef broth
- 1 1-oz package dry brown gravy mix
- 2 Tbsp cornstarch
- 1/4 cup water
Instructions
- In a large bowl combine the ground beef, egg, garlic, breadcrumb, salt and pepper, and shape into 4 patties. Heat a skillet over medium-high and add the patties and cook until browned on both sides, about 4 minutes per side.
- In a slow cooker add the sliced mushrooms and onion. Place the beef patties on top. In a bowl combine the beef broth and gravy mix and pour over the patties. Cover and cook on low for 5 hours.
- After the patties are cooked, remove them from the slow cooker and set aside. Turn your slow cooker to high. In a bowl whisk together the corn starch and water until the corn starch is dissolved. Whisk into the broth and cook until the sauce is thickened. Place the beef patties back in the sauce to coat. Serve.
Notes
This meal goes great with mashed potatoes.
If needed, add a tablespoon of oil to brown the patties.
