Some gather in the living room to countdown the clock, some flock to Times Square in New York City to marvel at the ball drop, and others attend Peepsfest, a New Year's Eve celebration in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, that concludes with a giant Peeps chick descending from the sky. The annual two-day New Year's Eve festival, which boasts family fun is a fun and festive way to bring in the beginning of an exciting New Year with a little bit of sweetness.

What are Peeps?
Created by Sam Born in 1953, Peeps is a marshmallow confection shaped into chicks, bunnies, and for the holiday season, gingerbread men and Christmas trees. It's not a filled Easter basket without a box of Peeps chicks.
All about Peepsfest
Celebrating its 10th anniversary, Peepsfest is hosted by Just Born Quality Confections, a sweet candy company that has been in the family for three generations. Along with the Peeps brand, Just Born creates and sells Mike and Ike, Hot Tamales, Goldenberg's Peanut Chews, and Just Born Jelly Beans.
Located at the iconic Steelstacks campus, a venue of the ArtsQuest Center, Peepsfest is set to be the highlight of the year. Along with sweet Peeps candy, guests can experience live music from kid-friendly bands, magicians, the Family Disco Lounge in the Musikfest Cafe, a kid's fun run, a Peepsfest 5k, and arts and crafts activities. Imagi Nation is hosting a playful assembly line for Peeps Pops followed by Wheel's of Friendship, which encourages children to paint with wheelchair wheels and the paws of a service dog.
They'll be cooking demos, a Peeps diorama competition and even pictures with Clifford the Big Red Dog leading up to the big event: the Peeps Chick drop.
Starting at 5:15 p.m, the Peeps Chick Drop and firework show will begin, bringing in the New Year for the entire family to enjoy together. The 400-pound Peeps chick will lower as fireworks go off in the background. It's a sight you don't want to miss.
