H-E-B Recalls Hill Country Fare Juice Due to Potential Allergen

If you are allergic to dairy products you might want to check your fridge for these fruit drinks. On Friday Texas-based H-E-B voluntarily recalled gallon-sizes of Hill Country Fare Pink Lemonade, Citrus Punch, Fruit Drink, and Grape Drink for the potential presence of milk allergens. According to the FDA, the Hill Country Fare juice drinks were shipped to H-E-B stores in Texas and Mexico along with Joe V's and Mi Tienda stores. The recall does not impact Central Market.

The voluntary recall affects the following products. The code date can be found on the bag of the jug beneath the lid.

HCF Citrus Punch Gallon, UPC 4122081863, Code Date: 9/30/2020 and 10/1/2020

HCF Fruit Drink Gallon, UPC 4122005172, Code Date 8/1/2020 and 8/2/2020

HCF Grape Drink Gallon, UPC 4122005176, Code Date 8/2/2020

The potential milk allergen can be dangerous and life-threatening to people who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk products. All affected products have been pulled from store shelves and customers who purchased the product can return it to the store for a full refund. Customers with any questions or concerns may contact H-E-B Customer Service at 1-855-432-4438 Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Central Standard Time.

There have been no reported illnesses from this recall notice.

In other H-E-B news, 10 San Antonio H-E-B employees have tested positive for Covid 19 since Thursday. In total, more than 35 employees in San Antonio have tested positive. Earlier in the month, the grocery chain stated customers would no longer need to wear a mask to shop. However, starting today, customers in Bexar County will be required to wear one according to Judge Nelson Wolff's new order.
