While Governor Greg Abbott may have ended the statewide mask mandate and fully reopen businesses, a lot of Texans are still wary of coronavirus (which, in all honesty, they should be). Some big stores such as H-E-B have loosened their mask requirements, however, most big-name stores like Costco and Target have kept their policies to encourage mask use. One restaurant, the Legends Diner in Denton, Texas has gone so far as to add a surcharge to customers that question the private business's mask policy.

Legends Diner in Denton, Texas Put Out Sign to Stop Anti-Maskers
Added to the window by owners Wayne and Kat LaCombe as a joke, the sign reads: "$50 if I have to explain why masks are mandatory. $75 if I have to hear why you disagree."

According to the Dallas Morning News, Wayne and Kat (who is a retired nurse and used to work in healthcare) are doing their best to slow the spread of coronavirus. The majority of the clientele at the diner is usually over 60 years old, an age group that is at a higher risk of illness.
Located at 508 S Elm St Ste 105 Denton, TX 76201, the north of Dallas diner features daily blue plate specials, comfort food classics such as double cheeseburgers, patty melts and mashed potatoes, and a brunch menu filled with stuffed hash browns, biscuits and gravy, and huge stacks of pancakes. Don't forget the onion rings and malts as well!
Has Anyone Gotten Charged Yet?
Not yet! "I just can't afford to get the virus. We'd have to shut our business down," Wayne LaCombe told The Dallas Morning News, sharing that keeping safe is their top priority.
While he's gotten chose, he's never actually charged the recent customers who came to the register without a mask.
