Crystal Pepsi, just like claw clips, is re-emerging from the depths of the 90s and bringing flavor to 2022. According to a press release, Pepsico is rewinding 30 years and bringing back their famous clear cola for only 300 Crystal Cola megafans when they enter the #ShowUsYour90s sweepstakes. But what about everyone else? Will Crystal Pepsi ever hit shelves again?

As of right now, the throwback clear soda is only available to contest winners.
"Since 2022 marks the 30-year anniversary of Crystal Pepsi, we wanted to do something extra special to celebrate and reward the passionate fans who have been clamoring online for its return," said Todd Kaplan, Vice President of Marketing at Pepsi. "And what better way to kick off 2022 than to throw it back to 1992 in order to get their hands on this highly limited-edition batch of Crystal Pepsi."
What Did/Does Crystal Pepsi Taste like?
Think of what Pepsi tastes like. Now think of it clear instead of brown. Essentially that's what Crystal Pepsi tastes like. Some say it is a little less "acidic" tasting because of the removal of the caramel coloring.
But Why Make A Clear Pepsi?
According to David Novak, creator of the soda and Yum! Brands chairman, the clear Pepsi-Cola soft drink had potential, but the company got in its own way.
It was a tremendous learning experience. I still think it's the best idea I ever had, and the worst executed. A lot of times as a leader you think, "They don't get it; they don't see my vision." People were saying we should stop and address some issues along the way, and they were right. It would have been nice if I'd made sure the product tasted good. Once you have a great idea and you blow it, you don't get a chance to resurrect it.
I personally don't see the reason for a clear soda. Sure, it seems more "healthy" but it also brings up the notion that everything that is in the soda is just an "unnatural" ingredient. How many things are clear in nature other than water?
Personally, I wouldn't mind if they kept Crystal Pepsi back in the 90s.
