The Voice coaches Reba McEntire and Niall Horan may come from different cultures — with McEntire from Oklahoma and Horan from Ireland — as well as different musical worlds, but there's one thing they have in common: a love for golf. The singers learned of their common hobby when McEntire served on the show as a "mega mentor" last season. Now that the country queen is a full-time host, they can properly enjoy their shared hobby together.

According to NBC, McEntire told Horan last season, "I play really good after one beer. I'm Tiger Woods-level at two beers!"
On a recent episode, McEntire and Horan managed to get away from the cameras for a few minutes to play a round of "golf" — albeit an abbreviated version — on The Voice studio grounds. On the episode, and in a video later shared to The Voice socials, McEntire and Horan whip around in a golf cart for a few rounds that include hitting a golf ball into a trash can and doing a few fun putt-putt courses.
This shared interest is already bonding the two singers, and their fellow coaches John Legend and Gwen Stefani are beginning to notice the budding friendship.
"Gwen, have you noticed? It seems like Reba and Niall are, like, best friends now," Legend said on the show.
"I know," Stefani said. "It's like, totally weird!"
They showed off their "bestie" status in another video shared by The Voice, showing the two coaches walking arm-in-arm with Queen's "You're My Best Friend" playing.
Horan clearly isn't opposed to making friends with his fellow coaches, as he formed a father-son-like bond with Blake Shelton last year. In the end, however, it is a competition, and all four coaches will surely do everything they can to advance the singers on their respective teams.
McEntire joins The Voice for the first time this year, filling the seat vacated by Shelton, who retired after 23 seasons in Spring 2023.
The Voice airs on Monday and Tuesday nights on NBC.
