Jon Bon Jovi Enters the Nashville Honky Tonk Business This Spring

Add Jon Bon Jovi to the growing lists of artists with their own downtown Nashville bar.

At any given moment, a cover of Bon Jovi's "Wanted Dead or Alive" is as likely to be blaring from a Lower Broadway bar in downtown Nashville as anything that's branded classic or contemporary country. Come this spring, you might be hearing it from an establishment owned by Jon Bon Jovi himself.

As first reported in 2022, a Bon Jovi-branded honky tonk will open at 405 Broadway. The five-story, 35,000 square-foot space will be named JBJ's Nashville. It's part of a partnership between Bon Jovi and the property owners, Nashville-based Big Plan Holdings (BPH).

"We're looking forward to having a place in Nashville that we call home," Jon Bon Jovi shared in a press release. "When Big Plan Holdings and the team of Josh and Tara Joseph asked us if we were interested, it wasn't because we were just another rock band, it was because we are a band with deep roots in Nashville. We have had wonderful times in Nashville recording several albums and working with some of the finest people in all the music business. I can't wait to toast all of Broadway and get to know our neighbors!"

It's a few doors down from Garth Brooks' Friends in Low Places bar, which opened in November. Other musicians with ties to businesses in the area include Kid Rock, Luke Bryan, Dierks Bentley, Blake Shelton, Miranda Lambert, Alan Jackson, Hank Williams Jr., Jason Aldean, John Rich and Florida Georgia Line. Eric Church and Luke Combs will soon have their own downtown establishments, as well.

Jon Bon Jovi won the 2024 MusiCares Person of the Year award ahead of this year's Grammys. In celebration of the band Bon Jovi's 40th year together, a new documentary about the group premieres in April on Hulu.
