Tucker Carlson Says Billy Strings And Bluegrass Music Is Saving Society From Heading In "Wrong Direction"

It turns out that Tucker Carlson is a big music fan, especially of bluegrass music and Billy Strings. In fact, Carlson suggests that Billy Strings and the genre is almost singlehandedly preventing American society from heading towards a collapse. No, Carlson isn't suggesting music can stave off a societal collapse, but he does believe in a domino theory.

He said on The Joe Rogan Experience, "I like jam music, I like acoustic music, I love bluegrass... LOVE bluegrass and Americana, and to see that grow, to see Billy Strings become a venue packer, a BIG act right now... I do feel like creativity, art, has been completely destroyed and eliminated in the United States."

Carlson feels like there isn't room for creativity in the country anymore. That's why Carlson thinks it's so exciting to see Billy Strings become a bigger figure and develop a following. Strings represents sheer creative brilliance to Carlson.  Carlson added, "You can't be creative if you're not honest, and we can't be honest so there's no creativity. And then the visual arts and literature and architecture has died. But comedy is still alive, thank heaven, and music for some reason has escaped that."

Tucker Carlson Is A Big Fan of Billy Strings

So count Carlson firmly in Strings' corner. He said that Strings and the growth of bluegrass is proof that all hope is not lost. He said, "The growth of bluegrass and the banjo, one of the great instruments ever, is thrilling and sign of life at this late stage. You can get this view that everything is falling apart, late Rome... and then you see these signs that are significant. It's one of the great developments... between podcasting and Billy Strings, I have hope that it's not all going in the wrong direction."

So no, pressure Billy! You just have to hold all of Western society together. We're rooting for you. Carlson also opened up about music in general and how important rhythm plays a role. "I love rhythm, I think it's the basis of music. Instruments are cool but they're kind of interior design and the architecture is rhythm... it's the universal sound that every culture appreciates because it reflects something that pre-existing, that's in you... to this day..."
