15 Outrageous License Plates Rejected by the Texas DMV

Customizing your license plate can be a form of self-expression, unless your idea of creativity is putting "D33ZNTZ" on the back of your car for the world to see. Then you'll have to deal with getting rejected by the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles.

Last year, the Houston Chronicle shared some of 2016's rejected vanity plates. 513 people tried to slip some not-so-appropriate license plates past the DMV between July 1 and Sept. 30, 2016. Let's take a look at some of the most ridiculous ones that failed to make it out of the DMV and Department of Public Safety offices and onto the road. Here's one invitation we're not interested in taking.

You have to love the way these sweet pandas are cuddling next to the phrase "DAT AS5". Pure class.

We admire this person for trying to keep it clean.

Some people got downright aggressive with their plates.

While some were quite literally looking for a fight.

Others obviously hoped to incite hate with controversial phrases.

Some Texans were just trying to add some humor to the road.

But the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles was having none of their shenanigans.

We guess this is easier than putting an ad out in the paper...

What do you think this person's driving record is like? This plate just screams, "pull me over!"

Here's one way to sit handcuffed on the side of the road and watch your tires get slit open by cops.

Sometimes imitation isn't the best form of flattery. Sometimes it's just stupid.

Can you blame this person for wanting to express their Texas pride?

The DMV put the kibosh on this over-used and slightly offensive phrase.
