"Daddy's Hands" came out in 1986, and helped launch Dunn's successful country career. The soulful and emotionally hard-hitting song was Dunn's first top 10 hit, peaking at No. 7. After being invited to appear on The Dolly Show in 1987, Dolly Parton joined Dunn in an epic duet.
Before they begin the song, Dolly compliments Dunn by saying "Daddy's Hands" is one of her favorite country songs of all time. The duo's harmonies during the first chorus will blow you away. See for yourself below.
Dunn wrote "Daddy's Hands" as a Father's Day tribute to her own dad. The song won the singer two Grammy nominations in 1987; one for Best Female Vocal Performance and the other for Best Country Song. Her first No. 1 single followed a couple years later with "Are You Ever Gonna Love Me." She had another No. 1 single in 1990 with "You Really Had Me Going."

Country stars shared their condolences through social media following the announcement of Dunn's death. "So sad to hear about Holly Dunn passing," Miranda Lambert stated through her Instagram page. "She was a big inspiration to me. By singing along with her cassette tape I learned to sing. 'Daddy's Hands' was the very first song I ever learned and sang in public. I was 9 years old. The 3rd-grade talent show and my dad played guitar for me. She will always have a special place in my heart. Rest In Peace Holly."
