Country stars Dustin Lynch and Cassadee Pope went toe to toe on an episode of Lip Sync Battle and I still can't get over how tough the battle was. Both stars steered away from their country music roots which made for quite the entertaining evening. You know it's a strong battle if I'm still over here watching it years later.

Lynch sang hip-hop artist Ludacris' "What's Your Fantasy," while host Chrissy Teigen watched in horror as well as an incredibly fun performance to "Mambo No. 5" by Lou Bega. Lynch goofily wandered around the stage while Cassadee Pope and host LL Cool J watched gleefully. You can see a clip of the craziness below.
Pope chose a nightgown-clad performance of rock band Panic! at the Disco's "I Write Sins Not Tragedies" with a surprise cameo from the band's lead singer, Brendon Urie. She captioned a clip of the performance on Twitter saying, "All those years of lipsyncing into my hairbrush in my bedroom led to this moment."
It was great to see young country stars on Spike TV's surprise hit show. Lynch and Pope's episode was a special "Country Holidays" edition of Lip Sync Battle for the Christmas season and the crowd went wild the entire time.
Spike TV's Lip Sync Battle is hosted by LL Cool J with assistance from commentator Chrissy Teigen. The lip sync battle pits celebrities against one another to see who can lip sync the most outrageous versions of popular songs. Past performers include Shaquille O'Neal, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, and Julianne Hough. I'm thinking we need another round of country singer vs country singer. Maybe Blake Shelton vs Kelly Clarkson? Or how about Maren Morris vs Luke Bryan? Either option would be incredibly entertaining.
