May is a light month for new country songs hitting the radio. On deck: basically, a bunch of dudes. Including two looking to keep their No. 1 streaks alive, while two more return to the scene and one tries to break into it.

But while new songs hitting radio are kind of sparse, lots of great new albums are on the way. Those include Zac Brown Band's new LP, Welcome Home. Oh, and also a little record by this guy you may have heard of named Chris Stapleton. Then there's Brandi Carlile's Cover Stories, an album featuring covers by some of music's biggest names, all to benefit charity.
But in the meantime, check these new country songs for May.
Jon Pardi, "Heartache on the Dance Floor" (May 1)
Fresh off his second No. 1 single, Jon Pardi has another single going to radio. "Heartache On The Dance Floor" follows up "Dirt On My Boots" and "Head Over Boots," both of which went to No. 1. That makes Pardi's sophomore Capital Nashville album California Sunrise his most successful to date.
Pardi wrote "Heartache on the Dance Floor" alongside Bart Butler and Brice Long. The tune sounds a little reminiscent of some of Thomas Rhett's stuff. In other words, kind of nu-disco. Will it see the same success as his other two singles? It's certainly possible.
Parmalee, "Sunday Morning" (May 1)
Parmalee hasn't released a new album since 2013's Feels Like Carolina. They released a new single, "Roots," in May 2016, but the tune didn't go quite as far as they hoped on radio. But now they've got a new tune called "Sunday Morning" heading to radio.
The mid-tempo love song follows a familiar path of their recent singles like "Carolina." Expect news of a new album soon.
Devin Dawson, "All On Me" (May 1)
Devin Dawson's debut single "All On Me" fits right in line with the soul-infused pop country trend. The 28-year-old artist joined Maren Morris on some of her tour dates and also partnered with Jay Joyce for his debut record. Joyce helped make Eric Church's and Little Big Town's sound into some of the most interesting mainstream country artists.
The smooth love song "All On Me" already has nearly seven million streams on Spotify.
Jason Aldean, "They Don't Know" (May 8)
Jason Aldean is already on the fourth single off his seventh album, They Don't Know, which he released just over six months ago. All three previous singles, "Lights Come On," "A Little More Summertime" and "Any Ol' Barstool" hit No. 1 on the radio. So the chances of "They Don't Know" doing the same are pretty good.
Interestingly enough, Aldean's touring guitarist Kurt Allison co-wrote the tune. Sonically, it falls in the same vein as his first single from the album "Lights Come On." Lyrically, it's another ode to small towns and the work it takes to make small town life work.
Tyler Farr, "I Should Go To Church Sometime" (May 15)
Tyler Farr stretches his vocal limits on new single, and it certainly pays off in emotion. The song goes from ballad to rocker quickly, and Farr takes it their dramatically.
Farr says the song can be about redemption or guilt depending on your vantage point, but that it really spoke to him. Especially after getting married to his wife.
