On Thursday (July 13), the hit HGTV series was nominated for its first Emmy for the best structured reality program. HGTV sent their congratulations via Twitter following the announcement.

The Waco-based show is heading into its fifth season. The show's popularity has even sparked a Fixer Upper spin-off, Behind the Design. Chip and Joanna Gaines have been crushing it lately.
Amidst some controversy, the power couple continues to bring in high ratings, tons of customers, and inspire fans. Recently, they landed a cover on People.

They're competing against Antiques Roadshow, Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, Lip Sync Battle, Shark Tank, and Who Do You Think You Are? Regardless of whether or not they bring home the Emmy, the nomination is a big win.

"Chip and Joanna are honored for Fixer Upper to be nominated," Magnolia spokesman Brock Murphy told KWTX. The crew was reportedly in the middle of filming when they got the exciting news.
