You may not have heard of the metal band All That Remains, but if you listen to country music, then I guarantee you'll be familiar with their newest music video.
The video is a cover of Garth Brooks' 1991 hit single "The Thunder Rolls", and even to non-metal heads, it's surprisingly good.
Until hearing this, you might have thought that there aren't two musical categories that are more objectively different than country music and metal. All That Remains has proven that's not always the case.

The minor key of the original song lends itself well to the metal genre, which tends to interweave a general sense of foreboding into much of its music.
Add in heavy bass lines and drums and a gritty-voiced lead singer, and you've got a compelling mixture of country and metal.
The music video pays homage to the original video in their portrayal of a country woman waiting by the window for her cheating spouse. Fans of the song may especially enjoy the part at 2:47 where the singer screams in a raw and rasping howl, "AND THE THUNDER ROLLLLLLS!"
Garth Brooks' music hasn't sounded so metal since Chris Gaines randomly appeared and then disappeared nearly 20 years ago.
"The Thunder Rolls" Lyrics
Three thirty in the morning
Not a soul insight
The city's lookin' like a ghost town
On a moonless summer night
Raindrops on the windshield
There's a storm moving in
He's headin' back from somewhere
That he never should have been
And the thunder rolls
And the thunder rolls
Every light is burnin'
In a house across town
She's pacin' by the telephone
In her faded flannel gown
Askin' for miracle
Hopin' she's not right
Prayin' it's the weather
That's kept him out all night
And the thunder rolls
And the thunder rolls
The thunder rolls
And the lightnin' strikes
Another love grows cold
On a sleepless night
As the storm blows on
Out of control
Deep in her heart
The thunder rolls
She's waitin' by the window
When he pulls into the drive
She rushes out to hold him
Thankful he's alive
But on the wind and rain
A strange new perfume blows
And the lightnin' flashes in her eyes
And he knows that she knows
And the thunder rolls
And the thunder rolls
The thunder rolls
And the lightnin' strikes
Another love grows cold
On a sleepless night
As the storm blows on
Out of control
Deep in her heart
The thunder rolls
She runs back down the hallway
To the bedroom door
She reaches for the pistol
Kept in the dresser drawer
Tells the lady in the mirror
He won't do this again
Cause tonight will be the last time
She'll wonder where he's been
