During this year's ACM Honors event in Nashville, Chris Stapleton paid tribute to George Strait with a mind-blowing cover of his 1993 single "When Did You Stop Loving Me."

The track, featured on the hit soundtrack for the 1992 film Pure Country, was transformed by Stapleton's fiery vocals. It's hard to try and make a Strait song you're own, but Chris is one of those rare performers that turns any tune into a classic with just a few notes.

After the musical tribute, Strait was awarded the Academy of Country Music's Cliffe Stone Icon Award. That honor is given to artists who have advanced the genre through their contributions in multiple facets of the industry such as songwriting, recording and touring.

"When Did You Stop Loving Me" was a fitting choice, as this year marks the 25th anniversary of Pure Country's release. To celebrate the special occasion, Strait will perform two shows in Las Vegas with set lists packed full of cuts from the film's soundtrack.
Stapleton and Strait also shared the stage again last night during Skyville Live's tribute to Jerry Lee Lewis. You can see our full review and photos from the event here.
