Route 91 Survivors Ask Jason Aldean to Finish His Vegas Set

A group of Route 91 survivors found a clever and heartfelt way to invite Jason Aldean back to Las Vegas. The country star was about a third of the way through his headlining set when tragedy struck on Oct. 1. Members of the Facebook group "58 Survivors 1 Last Set" put together a photo book to send Aldean. The gift doubles as a means to politely ask that he return and finish that night's performance.

Per a report by Las Vegas' KTNV 13 Action News, a group of women with a shared traumatic experience banded together to create something special for Aldean. The end result is a $300 Shutterfly book. It celebrates what had been a fun evening enjoyed by music fans from all walks of life. Symbolically, there's 91 pages of photos and personal messages for Aldean from Route 91 survivors.

Such acts of solidarity show how Aldean's music rallys support for that evening's victims and survivors. "After it happened, all I could think about was Jason Aldean,"  Facebook group founder Tiffany Thomas told 13 Action News. "I kept thinking like he was up there, he was on that stage, he was singing for us."

In addition, the book's celebration of both victims and survivors acknowledges that Aldean also survived imminent danger. "I hope that when he opens it, he just sees that we love him and that we know what he's going through," said group member Gina McKin to 13 Action News.

Organizers of the project hope that Aldean considers playing the rest of his set for survivors and victims' families.
