This week on American Idol, the Top 24 contestants took the stage in front of a Los Angeles audience and the judges to see who could handle the pressure. Sixteen-year-old Layla Spring from Marion County, Ky. stood out with her shining performance of Martina McBride's "Broken Wing."
Nashville radio personality Bobby Bones guest starred on the show this week to mentor contestants and his appreciation for country music might have been just the thing Spring needed to boost her performance. With her sparkling shoes and bubbly personality, Spring brought a combination of her own style and respect for the song to the stage.

After Spring finished her performance, the judges jumped to their feet to give her a standing ovation, noting that she took advice well and has progressed since the competition started. Like judge Katy Perry said, "A couple of those notes, you made us feel them in our gut...you've grown leaps and bounds from when we first met you."
After last night, Spring's "Broken Wing" cover has been making the rounds online. Even judge Luke Bryan shared the video to his Facebook page, saying, "America will have Layla fever, it's infectious." See her show-stopping performance in the video above.
