After going viral for singing in the middle of Walmart, 11-year-old Mason Ramsey appeared on Ellen, performed at Coachella, and was even invited to achieve his dream of singing at the Grand Ole Opry. The past month has been a roller coaster for this small town youngin who has now released his first single with Atlantic Records and the Big Loud label.
Listeners will notice right away that the track has a pop-country influence and doesn't have any yodeling on it, which might seem a little strange considering that's partially the reason why Ramsey skyrocketed to fame. But the catchy nature of the song is certain to find plenty of radio play and have fans happily singing along with Ramsey in no time at all.

Clearly, Mason Ramsey is wise beyond his years and incredibly poised, polite and accomplished for his age, but lyrically, the track demands a lot of his 11 years. While its true that he was singing a very mature Hank Williams song in Walmart and on TV, the release of an original song provides the chance to sing from his experiences. Lyrics like "You can bet when I hear, 'Congratulations'/Want it to be because we made it/Another five years," feel like a missed opportunity to give Ramsey something he can truly emote.
Ramsey is obviously a wonderful talent with a heart of gold. Hopefully, the adults around him in the music business allow him to shine and stay that way.
