Carrie Underwood took the stage Wednesday night (June 6) at the CMT Music Awards at Nashville's Bridgestone Arena for another beautiful powerhouse performance of her new song "Cry Pretty." After starting off the performance behind a beaded, glittery curtain, Underwood emerges to deliver her signature forceful vocals. It's no surprise that Underwood brought the audience in the packed arena to their feet before the song was even finished.

Written by Underwood, Liz Rose, Lori McKenna and Hillary Lindsey, "Cry Pretty" reflects strength in emotional vulnerability, something the singer showcased brilliantly in her performance, offering a much-needed raw and real moment during the award show.

Other performances during the star-studded show included Kelly Clarkson, Blake Shelton, Kelsea Ballerini, Lindsay Ell, Florida Georgia Line, Backstreet Boys, Dierks Bentley with Brothers Osborne and Jason Aldean with Darius Rucker, Luke Bryan and Charles Kelley.

Underwood debuted "Cry Pretty" at the 2018 ACM Awards back in April. The song is the first single from Underwood's upcoming new album of the same name. "Cry Pretty" is currently in the top 20 on Billboard's Top Country Songs Chart.

In addition to bringing the house down with her performance, Underwood was a big winner at the 2018 CMT Music Awards. The country star took home the award for Female Video of the Year for "The Champion," her collaboration with Ludacris. She was also nominated for Collaborative Video of the Year for "The Champion" and for the CMT Performance of the Year for her performance of "The Fighter" with Keith Urban at 2017 CMT Music Awards.

Underwood has had a busy few months. In between a hectic schedule and working on her upcoming album, the singer returned to American Idol as a mentor to the show's Top 5 contestants.

Underwood will perform this Friday, June 8, at Nashville's Nissan Stadium for the 2018 CMA Fest.
