According to Omaha.com, Jinks was on stage at the SumTur Amphitheater for about an hour before he told the crowd he was dizzy. He proceeded to play four more songs while seated before apologizing to the audience.
"Hey guys, they're gonna take me to the hospital," he told concertgoers from the stage. "I've been doing this for 20 years, and this has never happened. I'm not drunk or anything. I'm gonna make this up to you. I'm sorry."
Jinks was originally scheduled to play a show tonight (March 23) at the Blue Note in Columbia, Mo. In a statement posted to his official Facebook page, the singer shared an update on his health and touring schedule.
"Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers," Jinks wrote. "I suffered a pretty severe onset of vertigo on stage last night in Omaha. My blood pressure spiked and I was taken to the hospital to get checked out."
"Unfortunately, I won't be able to play Columbia Missouri tonight, which breaks my heart," he continued. "Everyone knows that's one of my favorite places to play. On the bright side, I have a couple of weeks to get right. Playing music is my life and I'll be back out sooner than later. Thanks again for the well wishes."
According to the Blue Note's Twitter page, his Columbia, Mo. tour date will be rescheduled.
Wide Open Country will share any developments on this story as they happen.
