According to the Tennessean, Eric Swarbrick was charged with "interstate stalking and sending interstate communications with the intent to threaten." Earlier this year, Swift filed a restraining order against Swarbrick after Big Machine Music Group, Swift's record label, began receiving increasingly threatening letters from him.

On Aug. 2, Swarbrick drove from Texas to Nashville to personally deliver letters to Big Machine's office, where he was arrested by Nashville police. WSMV also reports that Swarbrick threatened to kill himself in front of Big Machine label head Scott Borchetta and his staffers.

Since the beginning of the year, Swarbrick sent over 40 letters filled with threats to Swift and her team. He continued to send letters even after his arrest last month.

Eric Swarbrick is currently being held in police custody in Travis County, Texas but will be transferred to a Tennessee facility in the coming weeks. If convicted, Swarbrick could spend up to five years in jail and a $250,000 fine on every count.
