Aldean shared his appreciation in a Facebook post.
"Truly honored to be receiving the ACM - Academy of Country Music Dick Clark Artist of the Decade Award this year," Aldean wrote. "Just wanna thank Country Radio and the Country Music fan base for all the support over the years! It has been a crazy and unbelievable ride to get here and it has changed my life. This is the proudest moment of my professional career and I hope we are just getting started!"
According to Billboard, Aldean is only the sixth artist to receive the honor. The singer follows in the footsteps of Marty Robbins, Loretta Lynn, Alabama, Garth Brooks and George Strait. Strait, who was named Artist of the Decade in 2008, was the last artist to receive the award.
Aldean is the reigning ACM Entertainer of the Year.
