Bob Dylan and Ringo Starr weren't the only Rock & Roll Hall of Fame members to record with Music City's best session musicians in the late '60s and early '70s. Elvis Presley returned to Nashville's RCA Studio B, where he'd been recording tracks since 1958, for the five day, five night run in June 1970 (with an additional session on Sept. 22) that resulted in the albums Elvis: That's the Way it Is, Elvis Country (I'm 10,000 Years Old) and Love Letters from Elvis.

Master recordings from these no-frills "marathon" sessions will be released officially on Nov. 20 as From Elvis in Nashville. The collection, titled as a homage to the American Sound sessions that brought us From Elvis in Memphis, will be available as a 4-CD box set featuring two bonus discs of outtakes and rarities and as a double LP of session highlights.
Per a press release, the collection will be "presented in pristine audio, newly mixed by acclaimed engineer Matt Ross-Spring (John Prine, Jason Isbell) without the added overdubs or orchestration appearing on earlier releases."

Highlights include a version of Cowboy Joe Babcock's "I Washed My Hands in Muddy Water," available now through all streaming sites, and a cover of Willie Nelson's "Funny How Time Slips Away."
The sessions feature such country music legends as harmonica player Charlie McCoy and Muscle Shoals musician Norbert Putnam plus Las Vegas residency-era Presley's not-so-secret weapon: TCB Band guitarist James Burton.
Prior songs cut by Elvis at RCA Victor's Studio B include "Are You Lonesome Tonight," "It's Now or Never" and "How Great Thou Art."
