The small town of Paris, Tennessee, about 120 miles west of Nashville, is home to a 70-foot replica of the Eiffel Tower! While you're visiting the Henry County town of fewer than 11,000 residents, you can attend the World's Biggest Fish Fry as well!
The town of Paris (Tennessee, of course) is the oldest incorporated town in West Tennessee. It was named after the famous French city to honor Marquis de Layfayette.
During the 1990s, engineering students from Christian Brothers University in Memphis started constructing the tower out of wood. The wooden replica was dedicated in Memorial Park, now known as Eiffel Tower Park, on January 29, 1993.
Aside from the tower, Eiffel Tower Park has a splash pad, playground, and an Olympic-sized swimming pool. According to the Paris-Henry County Chamber of Commerce, "Paris, Tennessee is the perfect place for a day trip of shopping, a weekend by the water, or a new place to call home." With the 160,000 acre Kentucky Lake in its backyard, you're sure to have a great time!
