When it comes to Kenny Chesney songs and country songs in general, it doesn't get much more iconic than Chesney's 1999 hit, "She Thinks My Tractor's Sexy." Like many tunes in country music, the song is full of sarcastic humor, as Chesney sings about his love interest finding him more attractive when he's on his tractor. The tune was written by Nashville songwriters Jim Collins (who also wrote Jason Aldean's "Big Green Tractor") and Paul Overstreet and released from Chesney's fifth studio album Everywhere We Go.

Collins chatted about the writing of the song with The Tennessean, sharing that he and Overstreet were working with another writer (whom he did not name) the day they wrote "She Thinks My Tractor's Sexy." The inspiration for the tune came from a story Overstreet told the songwriters about driving to the tractor store to pick up a part for his tractor with his wife. Collins then uttered the famous line in return, and the idea for the song was born.
"They get in the car and he was saying all the way to the tractor place, the John Deere place, he said she was kissing on his neck and he was about to wreck the car," said Collins of Overstreet's story. "We started laughing and I think I said, 'Well, I guess she thought your tractor was sexy.' We got a big laugh out of that and I said, 'Let's write that. That's a song.'"

Collins then shared that the other writer they were working with thought the idea was "stupid" and didn't want to write it, so they went on to write another song that day. However, when the third writer left, they went back to their tractor idea.
"The minute he left I looked at Paul and said, "Let write that.'"
Collins also shared that the writing of the song only took about 45 minutes and that he wasn't sure any artist would record it.
"When we first started writing it, I never dreamed anybody would ever cut it, but I knew I liked it, and we wrote it from fun, and I think it must have come through in the song," he said. "And hey, let's face it, where I'm from, 'She Thinks My Tractor's Sexy' is a love song."
"She Thinks My Thinks My Tractor's Sexy" peaked at No. 11 on the Billboard chart, and although it didn't reach the top, it has become one of Chesney's most memorable and greatest hits. The song was followed by hits like "What I Need To Do," "Don't Happen Twice," "The Good Stuff," "No Shoes, No Shirt, No Problem," "When The Sun Goes Down," "How Forever Feels," and many more. The music video for the tune is equally humorous, featuring Chesney singing the tune in front of a tractor in a barn.
'She Thinks My Tractor's Sexy' Lyrics:
[Verse]
Plowin' these fields in the hot summer sun
Over by the gate lordy here she comes
With a basket full of chicken and a big cold jug of sweet tea
I make a little room and she climbs on up
Open up a throttle and stir a little dust
Just look at her face she ain't a foolin' me
[Chorus]
She thinks my tractor's sexy
It really turns her on
She's always starin' at me
While I'm chuggin' along
She likes the way it's pullin' while we're tillin' up the land
She's even kind of crazy 'bout my farmer's tan
She's the only one who really understands what gets me
She thinks my tractor's sexy
[Verse]
We ride back and forth 'til we run out of light
Take it to the barn put it up for the night
Climb up in the loft sit and talk with the radio on
She said she's got a dream and I asked what it is
She wants a little farm and a yard full of kids
One more teeny weeny ride before I take her home
[Chorus]
[Bridge]
Well she ain't into cars or pickup trucks
But if it runs like a Deere man her eyes light up
[Chorus]
