Watson began a whirlwind of national shows in 2016. But the Nashville concert stood out even then as an iconic date for the independent Texas country artist. And now, the tour stop is bringing money back to Texas in a whole new way.
Several other Texas artists join Watson for the evening. Mickey Guyton, Jon Wolfe, Jim Collins and Leslie Satcher will all take the famous Ryman stage for the benefit. Tickets for the event start at just $25, and all proceeds go to the American Red Cross.
And if Aaron Watson's tour to date is any indication, the evening should be a huge success. So far, the country star has covered more than 40 states and eight countries in support of his new album Vaquero. Dates keep running all the way into December.
Watson and company join a huge list of artists banding together for Hurricane Relief. Most notably, George Strait brought out Miranda Lambert, Lyle Lovett, Robert Earl Keen and Chris Stapleton for a massive concert in San Antonio. Willie Nelson also performed alongside Paul Simon, James Taylor recently in Austin.

Both of those shows alone raised millions of dollars for the Rebuild Texas Fund. To date, that fund raised nearly $70 million of its $100 million goal. Much of the money now shifts from immediate relief for victims to long-term rebuilding. Hurricane Harvey caused historic damage to Texas, including the state's most populous city of Houston.
A collective of musicians and creatives also made the Stay Texas Strong website, which aims to keep up-to-date information on relief concerts. The site allows users to upload and maintain their own events aiming to raise money for relief efforts.
