Country music couple Thomas Rhett and wife Lauren Akins celebrated their daughter Ada James' first birthday on August 12. Their sweet, expressive baby girl was born shortly after they adopted their first child, Willa Gray, from Uganda. Although it was never the plan to learn how to care for a toddler and baby at the same time, the new parents were up for the challenge.

When Ada James was born, Rhett took to Instagram to write, "Last night at 10:28 PM Ada James Akins was born and it was truly the most amazing thing I have ever experienced. I can't believe that we have two daughters!! My wife @laur_akins labored almost 36 hours. She is by far the strongest human being I have ever met and I have a new found respect for moms around the world."

Clearly, this country singer is still in awe of both his wife Lauren and his daughters. His family is heavily featured in his new music video for "Life Changes," and he's happy to see that fans have become enamored with the growing family, as well.

Lauren posted her own ode to her wonderful 1-year-old to Instagram complete with a slideshow of pictures.

To continue proving that Ada James makes the best funny faces, Lauren also posted a hilarious moment in time when she and Thomas planted a huge kiss on Ada's face. Click through for her reaction.

Next, take a look at these innocent faces and then read the description. These gals are certainly busy exploring the world around them.

Rhett recently revealed that he and Lauren would like to have 5 children close in age, so we can expect to hear about the pair's growing family for years to come. "Ada is walking. Willa Gray is having full-on conversations with me," Rhett told People. "She's smarter than I am. It's only going to continue to get worse, but it's been such a life-changing experience in all the best ways possible."
