Talented singer-songwriter and fiddle player Amanda Shires is known for her work with Rod Picott, Jason Isbell & the 400 Unit, the Texas Playboys and her solo work like her hit 2016 record, My Piece of Land. Now, she's gearing up to release a new album set for August 3. While Shires teased fans with a morsel of a song back in January on Twitter, saying that she might name her new record 4122, the actual name of the album is now known to be To the Sunset.
Haven?t named my record yet (considering 4122) but this is a little part of a song called White Feather-Coming summer 2018 pic.twitter.com/gNw2PBksNV

Though there aren't any full tracks to enjoy yet, the new album has been described as a collection of stories told from a woman's perspective, tackling topics like mental illness, addiction, self-esteem and using self reflection to gain and new perspective on life.
Shires isn't worried about taking on weighty subjects and creating songs that require an active listener instead of going for just easy-listening toe-tapping tracks. Last year she told Nashville Scene, "I'm going to do what I'm going to do, as weird and maybe not commercial as it is, and it doesn't fucking matter, because whoever dies happiest wins."
Her talent combined with unique style and thoughtful lyrics is sure to draw her new fans when To The Sunset hits the shelves later this year.
