This Is Where Amazon Offers 2-Hour Alcohol Delivery

Ever since Amazon bought Whole Foods Market, the online grocery games have escalated almost weekly. Between Costco announcing its own delivery service, Sam's Club closing stores and launching free shipping for members, and Walmart expanding its own delivery service alongside Target, it's hard to keep up with our favorite retailers as they try to adapt online shopping initiatives. We thought Amazon couldn't get better than announcing free 2-hour Whole Foods delivery for Prime members, but we were wrong. Amazon is rolling out Prime Now alcohol delivery to new cities.

The two-hour alcohol delivery feature isn't available to all Prime Now cities just yet, and not every city can order spirits. Portland, Oregon is the latest city to get the alcohol benefits, but residents can only order beer and wine. The two delivery standards include: Prime for Prime members with two-hour delivery for free, or one-hour delivery for $7.99.

Over 30 cities currently have Prime Now, but only 12 offer the beer, wine, and spirits service. Per Food & Wine via an Amazon representative, here's the full list of select cities.

  • Cincinnati, Ohio
  • Chicago, Ill.
  • Columbus, Ohio
  • Los Angeles, Calif.
  • Minneapolis, Minn.
  • New York City, N.Y.
  • Phoenix, Ariz.
  • Portland, Ore.
  • Richmond, Va.
  • San Diego, Calif.
  • San Francisco Bay Area, Calif.
  • Seattle, Wash.

Would you take advantage of the alcohol delivery service in your city? It seems like it could come in handy during that party or backyard barbecue when the coolers run low and no one should be driving.

Not something for everyday use, this does take the hassle out of running separate errands to the grocery store and the liquor store when you're in a rush. Have you used the service if you live in the above cities? Let us know in the comments!

Grocery delivery has been a complete game-changer in 2020. Amazon Prime Pantry and Amazon Fresh have been a great help during the coronavirus pandemic. The perks are great. Same day delivery, choosing a delivery window, and more have been making social distancing easier.

If you haven't given Amazon Prime Now a chance, now is the time. The free 2-hour delivery will make shopping a breeze.

Delivery drivers, you guys have done a lot for us during the COVID-19 pandemic. Thank you!
