Scotty McCreery and Lauren Alaina rose to fame in country music together when they competed on Season 10 of American Idol. Now, 12 years later, the duo are still meeting up at country music events. They reunited once again at the People's Choice Country Awards on Sept. 28, where they presented the award for Social Country Star.

The two took the stage together — Alaina wearing a red dress with fringe and McCreery in a classy suit — to present the award. While onstage, they spoke of the importance of connecting with fans through social media, something at which both artists excel.
"Scotty and I know how important it is to forge that direct bond with every fan. Your likes, reposts, shares, and especially tonight, your votes matter," Alaina said while introducing the award.
"Tonight we bring a first to country music, an award to recognize the artist who dominates social media," McCreery added.
"This is for the artist whose posts, stories and livestreams kept us captivated and connected 24/7, 365," said Alaina.

The two then read the nominees for the award: Blake Shelton, Carrie Underwood, Morgan Wallen, Dolly Parton, Bailey Zimmerman and Shania Twain. Then, in unison, they announced the winner of the award as Shelton. After hearing his name, Shelton let out a few chuckles before walking to the stage to greet Alaina and McCreery and then accept the award. He also gave a humorous acceptance speech.
McCreery and Alaina first met on the set of American Idol Season 10. Both were teenage country singers vying for the title of American Idol and impressed judges with their mature voices. As fans will remember, McCreery took home the Idol win and Alaina was the runner-up. The two have since embarked on their own musical and personal journeys, but every once in a while they come together for events or performances.
