America's Got Talent is still taking auditions for season 18, and this week, country singer Kylie Frey is taking the stage to try her hand at making it through the competition. In a sneak peak of her audition shared by the show, the seasoned Nashville singer-songwriter from Louisiana takes the stage with bare feet, her acoustic guitar and her band as the judges welcome her.

She explained to the judges that she comes from a rodeo family, and she was even a rodeo queen before she made her way into music. After having a funny moment with Simon, she set up at her microphone and introduced her song "Horses in Heaven," which was inspired by her grandfather.
"He always told me if I sing the National Anthem for every rodeo that I showed up to, that one day, someone would ask me to sing the National Anthem at the NFR, which is the Super Bowl of rodeo," she said. "That's how I was going to get my start because that's how Reba [McEntire] did it, and that's how I was going to do it too."
She then launched into the song, which details how her grandpa taught her to ride horses. The emotional chorus takes the song to another level, as she imagines her late grandfather in heaven doing what he always did on earth.
