Chef Anne Burrell
Burrell studied at the Culinary Institute of America and then attended the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners in Tuscany, Italy, while working at Michelin star restaurant La Bottega del '30. She also worked as the Executive Chef of the Italian Wine Merchants and was sous chef at Felidia Restaurant when she arrived in New York. He experience with Italian cooking gives her expertise with delicious mediterranean dishes.
The celebrity chef has worked at some of the top restaurants in New York City, along with working alongside other Food Network all-stars like Rachael Ray, Guy Fieri, Bobby Flay, and degraced chef Mario Batali. She was also an instructor at the Institute of Culinary Education and one on the Food Network's Iron Chef America series.
On Chef Wanted, Burrell assisted restaurants in finding chefs with the potential to become executive chefs. As for Worst Cooks in America, Chef Anne Burrell helped mentor teams of struggling home cooks, putting them through a grueling and informative boot camp.
The Food Network star has also published multiple New York Times-bestselling cookbooks aimed at giving home cooks the ability to make delicious meals. Her first book was Cook Like a Rock Star, and her second was Own Your Kitchen.
Chef Anne Burrell Throws Shade
Despite her impressive experience and many accolades, the chef has had her low points as well. Along with facing a lawsuit for her behavior toward employees at Centro Vinoteca, she has been accused of being very difficult to work with.
Last July, on an episode of 'Worst Cooks in America,' Chef Anne Burrell even ruthlessly called out fellow chef Alex Guarnaschelli. Burrell was questioning a contestant on the show, Dolores Aguilar-Fernandez, asking "have you ever seen me heat a pan without something on it?
Then, Guarnaschelli replied "oh my God, I do that all the time, am I fired?" and without a second thought, Burrell fired back "well, I'd never hire you anyway."
Although she was (mostly) joking, fans were in an uproar urging Guarnaschelli to get back at Burrell for the rude remarks. One tweeted "C'mon @guarnaschelli you should have flipped @chefanneburrell off for that comment! Get her!!!"
#worstcooks WOW! That was big F.O moment! C'mon @guarnaschelli you should have flipped @chefanneburrell off for that comment! Get her!!! @FoodNetwork

Others were entertained by the extra level of sass, saying things like "Chef Anne is ON AND POPPIN tonight!!!! #worstcooks"
Chef Burrell has been beloved for her up-front sass throughout all of her time on Food Network. One fan back in 2013 tweeted about her as the "sass queen of Food Network," and this couldn't be more accurate.
