You might want to put away your caramel sauce and peanut butter. According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, "North Bay Produce, Inc. of Traverse City, Michigan is voluntarily recalling 2,297 cases and 2 bulk bins of fresh apples due to the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes". A total of six different apple varieties have been noted to have been in contact with possible listeria contamination. These apples include McIntosh, Honeycrisp, Jonathan, Fuji, Jonamac and Red Delicious apples.

North Bay Produce Voluntarily Recalls 2.297 Cases of Apples
According to North Bay Produce, the affected apples were sold in plastic bags under the brands Great Lakes and North Bay Produce Pure Michigan. The apples were also sold in unbranded clear plastic tote bags, white paper tote bags, and individually from retailers display trays to consumers in Florida, Illinois, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, North Carolina, Texas, and Wisconsin.
The apples were shipped between October 16th, 2019 and October 21st, 2019 from one North Bay facility. Apples shipped before October 16th are not affected. At the time of reporting, no illnesses have been noted.
Listeria, a serious infection caused by Listeria monocytogenes bacteria, can cause a variety of symptoms including high fever and diarrhea which is common with other foodborne illnesses. Listeria with mild symptoms is rarely undiagnosed however people with a weakened immune system and pregnant women may develop a more severe case. Symptoms may include severe headaches, abdominal pain, fatigue, and muscle aches. There is also a chance the infection could lead to stillbirth, premature delivery, or life-threatening infection of the newborn. Symptoms can start 1-4 weeks after eating the contaminated food.
