Ashley Wright grew up in what Southerners affectionately call L.A., lower Alabama, and Pensacola, Fla., where her love for bluegrass music, cornbread and the Gulf of Mexico and its sugar white beaches was nurtured. Her writing career began during her time as a reporter for her middle school newspaper and took her on to pursue a degree in Journalism from Flagler College in St. Augustine, Fla.

She has written for numerous publications throughout the Southeast as a travel and food writer as well as serving as a contributor to Fodor's Travel Guides. Finding the best hole-in-the-wall food joints, the hottest music festivals and the most unique hotel hideaways are her specialities.
