The group initially made the announcement during an appearance on Ellen, where they also performed the album's first single, "Yours If You Want It."
Fans of the band should expect more of the harmony heavy, Gary LeVox-led pop country anthems that made them international stars in the first place. In a press release, member Jay DeMarcus says the album feels nostalgic in a way, calling it reminiscent of early albums.
"I can honestly say I'm even more excited about what is ahead for us," DeMarcus says. "'Back To Us' is not only a title of a song on the album, but a feeling that has been building around this new music. It just fits in so many ways."
The trio's last album, Rewind, shot out of the gate with 61,000 copies sold in its first week. That was enough to land at No. 1, making them one of only four acts to land eight straight No. 1 albums in the SoundScan era. The record eventually spawned four singles, including No. 3 "Rewind" and No. 1 "I Like The Sound Of That."
Back To Us drops almost exactly three years after Rewind, an album that saw the band ramp up its touring significantly. That time together and the recent recording process revitalized the band not just musically, but personally.
"This time around, the three of us have been able to really focus and work together on what we want to say at this point in our careers," LeVox says, calling it an energizing process. "We still have a lot more music to make and we still actually like each other....for now."
