BBQ Brawl Season 2 Episode 7 begins with the sad knowledge that Team Eddie is down to one player. After Lu was sent home last week, the team consists of solely Chris Prieto. However, the catch is that Eddie can now steal a team member from another team, only adding to the stress and drama that comes with a heated BBQ competition.

The first six episodes of this BBQ show are "Introduce Your 'Cue," "Hometown Favorites," "BBQ Hacks," "Game Day BBQ," "Competition 'Cue," and "BBQ Brunch Battle." With each episode, fewer contenders remain, and we get closer to seeing who will be named Master of 'Cue.
The First Competition
Eddie chooses Brittany from team Michael, because of how amazing she's been doing for the past few weeks. Team Michael is sad to split up, as they've built a chemistry and camaraderie over the past few weeks, but Brittany takes it in stride with her typical positive attitude.
Eddie also gets to choose the first challenge of the day, which he reveals as grilled oysters. The challenge is only between the team captains, so team captains Bobby Flay, Michael Symon, and Eddie Jackson rush to make the best grilled oysters and win their teams a much-needed advantage.
Who Will Make the Best Grilled Oysters?
Eddie goes for a New Orleans style oyster with crab and butter. The judges declare that it has the perfect texture, is very rich, and Carson Kressley uses his classic adjective "life changing." Michael makes oysters with kimchi wasabi butter and caviar, which gets decent feedback but is a little greasy.
Bobby cooks up grilled oyster with smoked shrimp and compound butter, which contains anchovy and garlic. The judges describe it as a little softer than the others, and more delicately cooked. Kressley is on it with the seafood puns today, joking "I've had so many oysters I think I pulled a muscle!"
Eddie wins with his New Orleans style oysters, their crispiness and texture distinguishing them as the best grilled oysters of the contest. Then, the true contest is revealed as Seafood Feast.
Seafood Showdown
For the contest, there are three domes atop plates, and each one has a secret seafood protein that will need to be incorporated into every dish. The team captains must use reels to "catch" the seafood for their team, and then cook with whichever seafood is under their dome.
Since Eddie won the advantage, his reward is the ability to "steal" someone else's seafood pick in exchange for his. This proves to be a valuable advantage, since his seafood is an octopus, which many of the contestants feel hesitant about cooking.
Eddie switches with Michael stealing his crab legs. This leaves Michael with octopus, and Bobby will be cooking with salmon. The teams now have 90 minutes to make a feast around their protein, incorporating their seafood into every dish.
As the grilling begins, each team is on their A-game, doing their best to avoid being in the bottom of today's competition. Michael is pushing the pace to help his team with time management, which has been a struggle for them throughout the BBQ cook-off. Taylor's dish doesn't go as planned, as her pan doesn't fit in the grill she was hoping to use, so she's forced to pivot and hope for the best.
The Moment of Truth
In the blink of an eye, 90 minutes is up, and the nerve-wracking moment of BBQ Brawl Season 2 Episode 7 is here. Team Eddie has made a Crabtastic Platter. Bobby cooked a smoked and charred crab leg topped with gremolada, Chris went for tostones relents with crab guisado, and Brittany made grilled crab with samba and spicy corn, along with beer-battered crab nuggets with lemon and aioli.
Team Michael's theme is Texas Meets Mediterranean. Michael made burnt flour and squid ink pasta with octopus sauce, Ara made braised octopus with red wine and bacon, and David went for Spanish octopus stew with clams and potatoes.
Bobby's team's feast is called Salmon Three Ways On The Grill. Bobby made charred green curry salmon with crusty cowboy rice, Taylor produced salmon pinwheels with cream cheese, gochujang glaze and shishitos, and Erica made salmon gumbo with salmon skin chicharrón.
Who Will Be Sent Home?
The judges give all three teams mixed reviews, appreciating the deliciousness of some dishes while pointing out where others have fallen flat. When the judges criticized the mushy texture of Taylor's dish, she gets anxious and is convinced that she'll be the one sent home. Erica, her BBQ bestie, tells her that it's not in their hands anymore and that it'll be okay.
The judges say that Team Michael was uneven in how the octopus was cooked but had the most difficult ingredient, which gives them a little leeway. Teams Bobby and Eddie weren't all smooth sailing, but the captains held their teams together.
The first safe team of BBQ Brawl Season 2 Episode 7 is team Michael, and then team Eddie. When meeting with team Michael, emotions run high as either Erica or Taylor will be sent home. The judges say that their favorite dish was from Bobby. Erica's gumbo could've had more salt and spice, and wasn't very flavorful. Taylor's salmon was heavy, weighted, and overly creamy.
In the end, Taylor is selected to go home and forever lose her shot at the title of Master of 'Cue. Both contestants cry, and Erica says that she's now truly alone in this competition. Taylor is proud of what she put forward, but at the same time is devastated to lose her chance at Master of 'Cue. Next episode, Bobby will be the one to steal a contestant from another team, and he says he's going to throw out a surprise move. We can't wait to tune in next week to see what it is!
