Back in the '30s, a couple named Dave and Florida Lasier journeyed down South from Chicago to find the perfect place to build a new home. Enchanted by the Smokies of East Tennessee, they stopped to explore what is now known as Blackberry Farm. It earned its name when Mrs. Lasier tore her stocking on wild blackberry bramble. It's been Blackberry Farm ever since. In the '70s, Kreis and Sandy Beall discovered the area and felt it should be shared with the world. Mary Celeste Beall is the current proprietor and continues her family's legacy of incredible guest service.
These days the area is home to a working farm that features a Farmstead shop full of produce from the farm, in addition to home and wellness items.
The incredible farm-to-table Foothills Cuisine onsite pays homage to the property's Appalachian roots with world-renowned chefs leading the various onsite restaurants -- The Barn, The Main House and The Dogwood. Andy Chabot is the resident sommelier and he's brought additional notoriety to their cuisine and wine cellar. You'll get a world-class experience right in the heart of Tennessee.
