During a pre-holiday appearance on "The Jennifer Hudson Show," Blake Shelton talked about bonding with his three stepchildren by helping them prepare some rather quirky Thanksgiving turkeys.

"The whole family, we really get into the holidays. The only tradition, I think, that we have is me and the kids — they all watch TikTok and all this stuff, so they see people making these weird turkeys," Shelton told Hudson. "A couple of years ago we had to make a Flamin' Hot Cheetos turkey. Have you all seen this? You grind up the Cheetos, you put it on the turkey and then you make the turkey. There's really no point to it."
An Instagram reel posted by Gwen Stefani revealed another turkey topper from the potato chips aisle that's in the family's repertoire: Funyuns. The clip, which is set to Stefani's seasonal tune "Cheer For the Elves," shows Shelton crushing the snack machine staple over a turkey in a slow cooker. The rapid-fire footage of food prep shows Shelton taste-testing one of the Funyun toppings.
"Thanksgiving part 2. From our family [to] yours, happy Thanksgiving," the caption read.
While talking to Hudson, Shelton revealed that deep frying is one of his few culinary go-tos.
"I do cook, but you know, I'm limited on things that I think I would cook for you. I'm a good fryer. I fry stuff," Shelton said. "I'm telling your producers right now. You're laughing. I'm a damn good fryer. You kiss my a--!"
Shelton and Stefani wed in July 2021, making this year the blended family's third official Thanksgiving. Shelton's the stepfather of Stefani's three children with ex-spouse Gavin Rossdale— 17-year-old Kingston, 15-year-old Zuma and 9-year-old Apollo.
