It may seem like today is just another Tuesday, but no, my friends, today is National Chocolate Chip Day. Even more than National Doughnut Day or National Cake Day, National Chocolate Chip Day should be celebrated across the land because chocolate chips make anything better. Chocolate chips are both the foundation of the best desserts and everybody's favorite add in, especially when it comes to ice cream.

Blue Bell Ice Cream is celebrating the day with a fan favorite: Chocolate Chip Ice Cream. This sweet treat from the Texas-based ice cream company is creamy vanilla ice cream dotted with semi-sweet chocolate chips. Blue Bell Ice Cream chocolate chip goodness is the best way to honor this important national holiday.
And that's not the only chocolate chip love at Blue Bell. The half-gallon ice cream also comes in Mint Chocolate Chip and Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough ice cream flavors. And they just released a new flavor, which also comes in a pint. Chocolate Peanut Butter Cookie Dough is milk chocolate ice cream combined with peanut butter cookie dough pieces and milk chocolate chunks. (For the record, chocolate chunks absolutely count as chocolate chips.)
You can celebrate National Chocolate Chip Day with a simple cone of chocolate chip ice cream, or you can use it in your favorite frozen dessert. Here are two of our favorites.
1. Ice Cream Cookie Sandwiches
This recipe is perfect because you can really customize it. Chocolate chip ice cream sandwiched between chocolate chip cookies and rolled in chocolate chips? You bet. You could even do a fun mix of semi-sweet, dark chocolate, and milk chocolate here. Or use mint chocolate chip ice cream for a cool, refreshing treat. There are so many great tasting combinations to try.

2. Ice Cream Stuffed Cupcakes
Ice cream and cake is a classic combo, and these ice cream stuffed cupcakes are individual bites of perfection. You could use chocolate chip ice cream or you could use Blue Bell's Homemade Vanilla. For a rich chocolate on chocolate extravaganza, you could use Blue Bell's Dutch Chocolate ice cream.
Or — oh my goodness — wouldn't their Chocolate Peanut Butter Cookie Dough be amazing stuffed in a salted caramel cupcake? The sky's the limit on how you can combine flavors.
