If you found yourself saying, "Hey I wonder what Brent Cobb is up to this year," wonder no more. The rising country artist just announced a massive list of tour dates across the country.
Cobb plans on playing shows with some of country's biggest acts this year. He opens for folks like Chris Stapleton, Little Big Town and Tim McGraw/Faith Hill. Plus, when he's not supporting them, Cobb tours alongside Nikki Lane, Jamey Johnson and Margo Price.
In total, Cobb hits more than 55 different towns across America. Several stops include multiple stints, including Austin's famed South by Southwest festival. He also hits Stagecoach Festival in Indio, Calif. in April.
All the dates make plenty of sense for Cobb, who just released his first major label album Shine On Rainy Day. That record garnered plenty of praise since its October 2016 release.
The 10-track record captures Cobb's blue collar storytelling wrapped in bluegrass-tinged country with hints of blue-eyed soul and rock. In other words, he fits right into the ever-growing realm of country music. And on the road with acts like Chris Stapleton, Jamey Johnson and Nikki Lane.
Plus, Cobb has the guidance of cousin and producer Dave Cobb, who began working with his kin in Los Angeles all the way back in 2006. Cousin Dave says of Brent, "I wanted to work with Brent for very selfish reasons. When he lifts a pen and opens his mouth, it sounds like home. I did his record because he's part of the fabric of South Georgia and the soundtrack to my family. Pure rural country soul filled music."
Since his move to Nashville in 2008, Brent Cobb landed a publishing deal and slowly worked his name through the inner circle. Cobb wrote songs for artists such as Luke Bryan, Miranda Lambert and Little Big Town. His soft-spoken vocal style belies the gritty reality he captures in many of his tunes.
