Chris Stapleton just dropped the first track off his highly anticipated solo sophomore album, and it's everything fans have hoped for.

"Broken Halos" was performed for the first time during Dolly Parton's telethon for Tennessee wildfire victims last December. Now, he's given it the full studio treatment and selected it as the lead single from the upcoming record From A Room: Volume 1.
The track already feels like a Stapleton standard, showing off both Chris and Morgane's incredible vocal stylings throughout. The questioning but hopeful lyrics feel tailor-made for today's uneasy times. "Don't go looking for the reasons, don't go asking Jesus why," Stapleton advises. "We're not meant to know the answers, they belong to the by and by."
Details of Stapleton's highly-anticipated followup to Traveller have been scarce. But we do know that he'll drop two records, with From A Room: Volume 1 dropping on May 5.
From A Room: Volume 2 is expected to be released sometime later this year.
