Acclaimed Texas singer-songwriter Bruce Robison is currently hospitalized in Austin with pneumonia and a bacterial infection.

According to a press release, the country artist has been receiving treatment for the ailment since mid-May. The Boot reports that Robison's sister, Robyn, shared on Facebook that he was suffering from typhus, a rare bacterial infection which "caused pretty severe complications to his liver, kidneys and immune system." It appears that statement has since been removed.
The ongoing illness has forced Robison to cancel or postpone a handful of shows across the South and Southeast. He was set to have a busy few months touring in support of his latest album, Bruce Robison & The Back Porch Band. Robison is currently scheduled to return to the road on June 16, but that may change in the coming days.
