If Texans could choose their state bathroom, it'd no doubt be inside of a Buc-ee's. Now whether it'd be a Buc-ee's in New Braunfels or the original 1982 Lake Jackson location is up for debate, but there is nothing a Texan loves more than those spotless convenience store restrooms. Texans will have to share their lovable beaver with Alabama as Buc-ee's officially opened the first store outside of Texas on January 21, 2019. The store is in Robertsdale, Alabama, off Interstate 10, east of Mobile and if the college football season is any indication, it'll be one busy travel center as coastal fans head up to Tuscaloosa and spring breakers head east to Florida's Atlantic coast.

According to a press release, the Baldwin County location is over 50,000 square feet with 124 fuel pumps at the gas station and "the biggest, most pristine bathrooms the state of Alabama has ever seen." Y'all, I've been to some travel center restrooms along the Gulf Coast and let's just say that drive was hurting for the first Buc-ee's outside of Texas. Alabamans and Gulf Coast travelers will now be able to indulge in their desire for Beaver Nuggets, that famous Buc-ee's beef jerky, and the delicious homemade fudge the convenience store chain is known for. Not sure what to look for? Don't worry, you can spot that sweet beaver logo from a mile away.

Wherever a Buc-ee's opens, happiness follows. After all, don't you love pulling right up to an open set of gas pumps after you've been on the highway for hours? While this is the first location outside of Texas, we have a feeling it won't be the last as there are talks to open a Florida Buc-ee's location near Daytona Beach. A Fort Meyers, Florida location is also planned, but the Sunshine State Buc-ee's will open around 2020 and later. It doesn't look like any new location will surpass the Katy location, home to the world's longest car wash.
The new store might put a few Texas convenience store spots to shame with so many fueling positions, but we're just ecstatic that our lovable beaver is finally making the rounds he deserves.

Whether you're from Fort Worth, Austin, Dallas, or San Antonio, you now have something in common with someone from Alabama: your love of Buc-ee's! And if you live in Louisiana, maybe the largest convenience store will come to your state next. If not, you can mosey on over to the Lone Star State anytime you well please for the original Texas locations or head on over to southern Alabama.
