At the close of her headlining show at the Ryman Auditorium on Sept. 26, Cam brought out a special guest. Following an impassioned speech about the state of the country music industry (more specifically, many of those who run it), Cam hinted at the artist waiting offstage.

"I need a preacher out here," Cam said as Eric Church walked onto the Ryman stage to thunderous applause. The two kept the audience on their feet as they performed "Country Music Jesus," a cut from Church's 2011 album Chief.

Both Cam and Church are outspoken about making music on their own terms, so the two performing Church's song about remembering country's roots while taking the genre in new directions made for an unforgettable moment at the Ryman.

Shortly after performing with Church, Cam returned to the stage for an encore, singing her breakout hit "Burning House."

Church wasn't the only surprise guest of the night. Earlier in the evening Cam invited Colbie Calliat and the Indigo Girls' Emily Saliers to the stage.

Kicking off the night with an intimate living room set-up on the stage of the Ryman, Cam shared stories and songs that spanned her career so far, including "Diane," "Mayday" and "My Mistake" along with "Palace," a song she co-wrote with pop singer Sam Smith. She also shared two new songs, "Forgetting You When I'm Alone" and "'Til There's Nothing Left."

The California native spent the summer on Sam Smith's The Thrill of it All Tour. She also collaborated with Train on the rock group's current single "Call Me Sir."

Cam released her new single "Road to Happiness" earlier this year.
